Since the increase in offshore oil and gas operations, the oil and gas industry needs to predict the lifetime of its highly expensive facilities, both to build and maintain. Current design standards are complicated to apply (usually based on uniaxial loading) and not fully satisfactory, leading to the adoption of significant safety margins to ensure acceptable conservatism ratio.
The methods proposed by MECAMIX are easier to apply in the design office while being more predictive. They have been used in CITEPH project studies since 2014.
- Fatigue of welded oil and gas transport tubes
- Fatigue of terrestrial and marine mechano-welded structures
- The fretting-fatigue of anchoring systems
- The evaluation of the residual fatigue lifetime in impacted tubes (works by Mecamix with Total SA and Tecnitas)
With the MXDVWELD software, welding modeling will optimize this operation for better structural fatigue.
