MXDVFAT

MXDVFAT is a software for the design of structures with respect of fatigue.
This software has its origins in the work of Professor Dang Van and his team at the Solid Mechanics Laboratory at the Ecole Polytechnique. It is a multi-scale approach in which the material is considered as a structure (microstructure), in which plastic deformations can occur leading to damage. This concept successfully addresses most problems in fatigue
MXDVFAT predictively addresses the following issues:
- Polycyclic fatigue design under complex multiaxial stresses
- Fatigue of welded structures
- Vibration fatigue
- Low-cycle thermomechanical fatigue
- Contact fatigue
- Fatigue in repeated shocks
- Taking into account the effects of a notch
The use of MXDVFAT makes it possible to consider optimizing manufacturing, assembly (welding) processes as well as surface treatments.
